One-line description

SignBridge is a free, real-time ASL translation app built by and for the deaf community.

Longer description

SignBridge is a free Android app that translates American Sign Language (ASL) into spoken language in real time, on-device, with no cloud upload of video. The app launches in beta in 2026 with a community-driven model: every signed contribution from a user improves the recognition for everyone. SignBridge is built by Skyline Vis, an accessibility-first studio, and aims to give deaf signers a way to communicate with hearing people without an interpreter for everyday conversations — coffee shops, doctor’s waiting rooms, classrooms, customer service.

The product roadmap unlocks new capabilities (in-app calls, browser-based call links, multi-language support) as the contributor community hits measurable milestones. Public progress is visible at signbridge-web.pages.dev/contribute.

Founder quote

“Accessibility tools work best when they’re owned by the community they serve. We built SignBridge so deaf signers don’t have to wait for a human interpreter to have a normal conversation, and so the data they contribute belongs to the model they use — not to a cloud service that records video for ad targeting.”
— Garland, Director, Skyline Vis
